This camp counts towards your Academy Saber.
Arrive Thursday 10am, graduate 9am Sunday
Are you a “young buck” looking to take one of your academy sabre elective camps? Or a “old timer” who wants to “step back into a simpler time”. Maybe you want to experience “living history”. Whatever the motivation, join us for the Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship adventure camp to learn and live the pioneer way.
If you are able to survive the treacherous beginning trail, you will be taught pioneer skills that will help you thrive in the frontier land. Skills such as: throwing tomahawks and knives, building fire with flint and steel, archery, blackpowder rifles, and much more. “Candidates” (as you’re called to begin the camp) will be supervised and mentored by those who have “lived in the wilderness” for many moons. Frontiersmen, Buckskin and Wilderness members will all play a part in helping you to succeed and graduate to the next level of FCF.
Along with the physical adventure, you will also be taken on a spiritual adventure as you learn and see Jesus move throughout the devotional and outdoor worship service time. Each day culminates in a council fire where you will be stretched spiritually as you enjoy corporate worship with the other FCF members.
This is a “saber camp” so upon successful graduation, you will have earned one of the necessary camps to earn your saber.
Please be sure to download the “frontiersmen workbook” available by pressing the link. Please note that the work in this book DOES NOT need to be completed before attending the camp. It is just to give you a broader idea of the what you will be experiencing during the camp.
Our Chippewa Chapter has developed the following requirements in order to attend Adventure Camp:
Young Bucks: (1) Must first attend the “JTC” academy camp. (2) Must be actively working to attain the Discovery Gold Eagle, or Adventure bronze medal.
Old Timers (18 years or older): Must have earned the “ready” and “safety” leadership training patches and must be approved by their Pastor with a current background check of file at their church.
